Want a completely different swimming pool experience? Then perhaps you should consider getting a swimming pool Baha Shelf.
What is a swimming pool Baha Shelf you may be asking? Only one of the greatest things that can be incorporated into a swimming pool! In many ways it’s like creating a pool within a pool.
Basically a Baha Shelf (or perhaps a tanning ledge?) is a shallow section of your pool that is maybe 6-12 or so inches deep max. You’ve probably seen these with lounger chairs on them.
A great thing about these is that they change the entire dynamic of a swimming pool. As any pool owner can attest, not everyone always enjoys getting fully (or even partially submerged) in a pool. A Baha Shelf lets you enjoy the pool without all the “actually getting wet” commitment.
For that matter, you don’t even need to have a bathing suit on! Just hike up your pants and you’re good to go! Another reason people love Baha Shelfs is because the water is also typically warmer, so even if you do want to have a seat in the water its a much easier entry.
Beyond the “less than committed adults” we’ve already touched on, kids absolutely love these. They can splash and play, get on their hands and knees, even roll around and generally have an absolute blast. Also, for young children a Baha Shelf can be safer than a traditional shallow end, BUT having said that we cannot stress enough to always put safety first by never taking your eyes off your children (and the younger the child, the more vigilant you need to be) in or even near swimming pools.
Baha shelf’s are great for seniors and pets too for many of the reasons we’ve mentioned already. Really everyone loves them. Having that super shallow area is just enjoyable and creates a new dynamic to a swimming pool.
If you really want to amp your Baha Shelf up to the next level, you can add in some pretty amazing water features such as bubblers or even a fountain. Baha shelfs also allow for incredible lighting features and even things like having a built in umbrella sleeve for pool umbrellas.
The possibilities and opportunities are massive with a Baha Shelf!
